2021–2026: Multiversal Realignment, Celestial Awakening, & The Great Disappearance

  • 2021:
    • Blast at the Xavier Institute: The dormant Phoenix entity triggers Jean Grey’s resurrection deep within the Institute grounds. Her sudden, volatile awakening unleashes a catastrophic psychic and cosmic explosion that tears through the mansion. Professor Charles Xavier and the newly resurrected Jean Grey both vanish without a trace.
    • Disbanding of the X-Men: Lacking leadership and broken by grief, the remaining X-Men disband. Scott Summers remains in isolation recovering from his coma, while other members scatter globally.
    • Rise of the Mutant Response Division (MRD): Stepping into the power vacuum caused by Blip-era government destabilization, the Mutant Response Division—a heavily funded private defense contractor led by Senator Kelly and Colonel Moss—begins systematically rounding up, registering, and incarcerating mutants in high-tech holding facilities.
  • 2022:
    • Rebuilding the X-Men: Witnessing the MRD terrorizing innocent families, Wolverine and Beast re-recruit Iceman, Shadowcat, Colossus, and Forge to rebuild the mansion.
    • Emma Frost & The Genosha Rescue: Wolverine reluctantly recruits Emma Frost (freed from military cryo-custody, her physical aging halted by her diamond cellular state). The entity breaks control; Emma Frost uses her diamond form to absorb the cosmic fallout, shattering her body to save the world. The X-Men dismantle Master Mold's core, erasing the apocalyptic future timeline.
    • Loki's Multiversal Anchor: Outside space-time, Loki ascends to weave and stabilize the decaying temporal timelines, anchoring the branching realities into a glowing multivalued tree of time.
  • 2024:
    • Sam Wilson Claims the Shield: Six months post-Blip, Sam Wilson faces the anti-nationalist Flag Smashers and the Global Repatriation Council (GRC), ultimately accepting the mantle of Captain America alongside Bucky Barnes.
